Welcome to GABTO!
Greetings!
Wow, what a fantastic year for GABTO and you.
This year we were privileged to host the National Bureau of Business License Officials (NBBLO) Conference, noting its twenty-fifth year of service to government. Seven GABTO members received the national certification designation. This was due to a strong partnership with our national organization and their recognition of our certification program. For those government agencies that were able to fund your employees' training, we appreciate your support of our organization and their commitment.
Alcohol legislation will be one of our featured topics, presented by Chief David Dyal, along with Attorney Mike Sard. The session will be a complete overview of recent legislation along with foundational and comparison information of other jurisdictions. The State of Georgia's Professional Licensing Board will also facilitate a segment at Thursday's session. If you have specific questions about either subject matter, please submit them to Tekla Sellars. Our certification will continue with classes being offered in Spanish, Enforcement Techniques and Court Procedures. A small business workshop is planned to help businesses gain insight into maintaining financial stability, restructuring and strategic business plans.
The Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) would like for us to keep in mind the following, regarding the SAVE Program. All SAVE registration is completed through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), not GMA. When submitting your registration information, please include valid contact information - name, address, telephone number, facsimile number and email address. The Georgia Municipal Association wants to ensure everyone is taking advantage of available webinar sessions. Current schedules are provided on the GMA web site. The Georgia Municipal Association is not responsible for processing a taxpayer's renewal form or SAVE Affidavit. Please do not send your agency's checklist to GMA. At some point in the near future, penalties will be imposed to agencies who have not complied with the mandate.
We look forward to a wonderful 2010; and we hope you will be a part.
