Striving For Excellence

Hello all! I want to take the time and give you an update on the future plans and news. The G.A.B.T.O. board has been in many discussions about our next conference and goals for 2023.

There have been several changes and price increases relating to conference and membership fees. As we grow and attempt to find suitable locations for our organization, we must find larger venues to host conferences. Therefore, we had to make decisions to change membership fees and conference fees. During the last conference, we held a business meeting and discussed these issues. In the past, we had individual membership and organizational membership. We will no longer have an organizational membership. Each member will have to pay an individual membership. This fee is $50.00. The conference fee has increased to $260.00.

Over the past few years, we have seen our organization grow. As your President, I would like to see G.A.B.T.O. move to a certificate program with the Carl Vincent Institute of Government. In order to achieve this goal, our membership must increase. I ask each of you to reach out to your neighboring cities and counties. Network with each and let them know about our organization. Tell them about our training conferences. You can also give our Facebook and website information. I believe the word of mouth is the best advertisement we can have. I am reaching out to the Georgia Municipal Association, Georgia Municipal Clerks Association, and the Association of County Commissioners.

Please reach out to me if you have anyquestions, comments, or ideas on how we canimprove. Remember this is your organization and we need your help to grow. I will sincerely strive to make it the best organization.

Sincerely,

Rodger Goddard

GABTO President
